2024 Recap
2024 was a wild ride!
Building BVO has been an immersive journey!
With your help:
We raised $150,000 in seed capital through a Wefunder campaign to pay for the stuff we need.
We recycled and upcycled SO much cool stuff that was left in the museum or that people have given us!
We built Platform 34 (the first room) out of much of those materials, and it’s starting to really look like the Baron’s world!
We’re building BVO’s digital realm behind the scenes!
We got our HVAC working again! (not sexy, but very important when you’re working in the heat of the Memphis summer!)
We renovated our art gallery and River Room, so the Memphis community can use our space more readily!
Since then we:
Officially reopened the River Room by co-hosting a party with fellow Wefunders, Cxffeeblack! (Book the River Room for your event.)
We hosted a Rock-n-Romp concert and welcomed families back to Mud Island for music (Shout out Hope Clayburn!)
Hosted our first holiday party! (Thank you, VML!)
Our friends at Unapologetic threw their Unafraid Party on the boat to celebrate the release of Kid Maestro’s 52nd beat tape of the year!
We’ve given hundreds of tours of BVO to potential investors and other people in our community.
In 2025, we plan to host more parties and community events, give more tours, and open BVO’s first phase! To do that, we’ve gotta raise more money (also not sexy, but the tech we need isn’t cheap!)
“I’d love to invest, but I’m not wealthy,” you say. No problem! You can invest in BVO through our Wefunder campaign for as little as $100 and get paid a return (*all investment involves risk)! The campaign wraps in April, so if you’ve been meaning to invest… let’s get it, y’all!) Get more details at wefunder.com/bvo.
And if you do have deeper pockets, give us a shout, you are certainly welcome at the Baron’s table! We need ALL of Memphis backing this (and heck, non-Memphians, too!)
Mud Island’s comeback has begun, and the Baron and his gang (everyone who has helped us in any way) is leading the way! Join us!
